BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU BLACK BELT
Shinya started his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2008, in Synergy BJJ MMA (Bali), under Niko Han. Niko taught Shinya all the fundamental and basic techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, including techniques that he had learned from Rickson Gracie. Shinya attributes his success and mentality as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner to Niko, and is very proud to have Niko as his instructor.
Shinya holds an impressive record of fight achievements and is still active in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fight scene. In 2009, he won Silver in the Djarum Super Java Submission Championship; in 2010, he won Silver in the Djarum Super Indonesia Submission Championship. In 2013, he won Bronze in the ADCC Philippines Championship, and in 2014, he achieved Bronze in the South East Asian Grappling Challenge and Gold in the South East Asian Grappling Challenge. His most recent fight achievement is a Gold medal in the 2018 ADCC Taiwan X Alma By Grapple Asia.
In 2012, Shinya moved to Singapore; he started teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2015. Shinya has since attained his black belt in 2018, promoted by Niko Han in Synergy BJJ MMA Academy (Bali).
